Oxford Aerial Solutions is an independent aerial, satellite and home cinema installer based in Oxford, working across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. We are not tied to any broadcaster, provider or equipment brand, which means the advice you get is about your roof and your reception, not about a sales target.

Local, and we mean it

We're based in Oxford and our work is genuinely local rather than a call centre dispatching whoever's nearest. Our engineers know the transmitter coverage around Beckley, Hannington and Sandy Heath, they know which villages towards Chipping Norton and Burford sit on relay transmitters with a reduced channel list, and they know which older estates around Witney and Thame tend to have the same cabling problems from one house to the next.

That local knowledge saves time on-site. We're rarely guessing at what's likely to be wrong with a system when we already know the pattern of faults common to a particular type of property or a particular part of the county.

How we work

We turn up, look at the actual problem, and explain what we find in plain terms before doing anything. If a job is straightforward, we'll usually complete it there and then. If it needs parts we don't carry on the van, or turns out to be more involved than expected, we'll say so and give you a clear price before continuing, rather than a surprise on the invoice.

  • A clear explanation of the fault or the job before work starts
  • Upfront pricing, agreed before we proceed with anything unexpected
  • No pressure to buy equipment or services you don't need
  • Tidy work, including cable management and site clean-up

Why independence matters

A lot of aerial and satellite work in this country is sold through providers who benefit from recommending their own equipment or their own subscription, whether or not it's the best fit for your property. Because we don't sell subscriptions and aren't tied to any broadcaster, we've no reason to recommend a satellite dish over an aerial, or Starlink over standard broadband, unless it genuinely suits your situation.

This matters most on the jobs that don't have an obvious answer: a rural property deciding between Freeview and Freesat, a homeowner wondering whether an existing Sky dish just needs realigning rather than replacing, or a barn conversion where the sensible cable route isn't the one a quick quote assumed.

What's on the van

Our vehicles carry aerials, LNBs, cable, wall plates, mounting brackets and the tools for loft, roof and high-access work, which is why most call-outs get resolved in a single visit rather than needing a return trip for parts. For larger jobs like home cinema installations or Starlink mounts on outbuildings, we'll confirm on the phone or during a survey what's needed before the visit.

The range of work we cover

We install and repair digital TV aerials, satellite dishes for Sky, Freesat and other providers, Starlink satellite internet, home cinema and surround sound systems, and general audio-visual wiring and wall mounting. Most customers only need one or two of these at a time, but it means a property with a mix of ageing aerial cabling, a tired satellite dish and a new television going up on the wall can be sorted by one visit rather than three separate firms.

Where we work

We cover Oxford and the towns and villages around it as a matter of routine, including Witney, Chipping Norton, Burford and Thame, and we regularly travel out to Newbury in Berkshire and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. If you're near the edge of that area, it's worth calling to check rather than assuming, since coverage extends further for larger jobs.

Questions we are asked about this work

Are you affiliated with Sky, EE, TalkTalk or any other provider?

No. We are entirely independent and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Sky, EE, TalkTalk or any satellite or broadband provider. We book, price and carry out our own work directly with customers.

How large is your coverage area?

We work across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, with daily coverage around Oxford, Witney, Chipping Norton, Burford and Thame, and regular jobs out towards Newbury and High Wycombe.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Often, yes, particularly for straightforward aerial and satellite faults. Larger jobs like home cinema installs or Starlink surveys are usually booked a little further ahead.

Will you tell me if a job isn't worth doing?

Yes. If a repair isn't cost-effective, or a particular system genuinely won't suit your property, we'll say so plainly rather than carrying out work that doesn't serve you well.

What kind of properties do you work on?

Everything from period cottages and listed buildings to modern estates, barn conversions and rural farms, each of which tends to bring its own particular access and construction challenges.

How do I get a quote?

Call 01865 479702 or use our contact page to describe the job. Most quotes for straightforward work can be given over the phone, with a site visit arranged for anything more involved.

Tell us what your television is doing.

Describe the fault or the job and we will tell you what is likely involved, what it should cost and when we can be with you. No obligation, no pressure.
